About Dr. Washington

Dr. Washington, a native of Copenhagen, Denmark, cofounded Coastal Carolina OBGYN in 2003. She graduated cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and earned her Medical Doctorate from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed an internship in general surgery at Boston University Medical Center and her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City.

Dr. Washington is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of The American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the American Medical Association, and the South Carolina Medical Associates. She holds licensure in both New York and South Carolina.

Dr. Washington embraces a holistic approach to healthcare, and has expanded her practice to include acupuncture. She completed 300 hours of acupuncture training by Dr. Tsun-Nin Lee at The Academy of Pain Institute in San Francisco. She is also certified to offer bio-identical testosterone and estrogen hormone pellet therapy.

Dr. Washington is bilingual in Danish and English, and has knowledge of French, German, Swedish and Norwegian. She loves to travel the world and try new cuisines. She is a past competitor with the Horry County Dancing with the Stars.
