Coastal Carolina OBGYN specializes in prenatal counseling and care over the entire course of a woman’s pregnancy. Your healthcare is of the greatest importance to us and our providers work as a team to bring you optimal care. Pregnant patients see all of the medical providers in our practice at least once for prenatal visits, and there will always be a physician available to you to answer any questions or address any concerns you may have. Coastal Carolina OBGYN provides patients with the convenience of on-site ultrasound service and the option to get 3D/4D ultrasounds for enhanced prenatal photographs.

Every pregnant patient’s first visit will be different based on gestation and medical history. At a standard first visit, we review your medical history and conduct a full physical exam.
Most insurance plans typically cover two ultrasounds. Ultrasounds not covered by insurance will be billed to the patient. 3D/4D ultrasounds are not included as part of standard prenatal care. If you wish to have a 3D/4D ultrasound, the fee is $150. Please call 843.349.0100 for more information.
You can bring up to two people with you to your ultrasound. Any child that is brought into the ultrasound room must be supervised by an adult.
CCOBGYN will accept pregnant patients up to 36 weeks of gestation. If you are more than 19 weeks pregnant, we will need to review your prenatal care records before scheduling an appointment. To have your records sent to us, you can either sign a Release of Information at our office or sign a Release of Information at your previous physician’s office and have the records faxed to us. Our fax number is 843.349.0104.
If you go into spontaneous labor naturally, the provider on call will deliver your baby. We rotate our pregnant patients through our providers to make sure they have met all of our providers before they deliver. If you are induced or have a scheduled Caesarian section, the physician you have scheduled the surgery with will deliver your baby.
Although most over the counter drugs have an excellent safety profile, some can adversely affect the fetus during pregnancy. For your convenience, Coastal Carolina OB/GYN has compiled a helpful guide of all over the counter medications that we deem as safe. You may download the PDF by clicking the link below.
